HW3: The Surgical Management of Peri-Implantitis: From a Resective to a Regenerative Approach (Hands-On-Workshop) CANCELLED
November 4, 2021 @ 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm EDT
Program Track: Treatment of Periodontal Diseases and Peri-Implant Diseases
Program Track: Tissue Engineering and Hard Tissue Reconstruction
Peri-implantitis represents a common condition in implant carriers, yet there is no standardized therapeutic protocol to arrest the disease and enhance the longevity of peri-implantitis implants. The decision-making process to manage this disorder vastly relies upon knowledge and approaches embraced from the management of periodontitis. The therapeutic objective is to reduce pocket depth, eliminate inflammation and if possible, to reconstruct the damaged tissues by means of regeneration.
- • Identify the features leading the decision-tree in the management of peri-implantitis.
• Grasp the technical goal in the management of peri-implantitis to succeed in terms of pocket depth reduction.
• Introduce the step-by-step approach in reconstructing the peri-implant tissues.
